Hey Joe, look like a mixed bag of 'Eagle Eyes' and 'Radio Active Dragon Eyes' old school favorites hardy and fast growing.

Cheers, Todd

Thanks Todd,

You always come through. Thanks for the quick reply. I picked up three rocks covered with them about 6 to 7 inches long by 3 to 4 wide
How much do you think they cost me?

How much ? I have a LFS that used to sell these wild mixed zoa/paly colonies that size for around $35-$50 depending on species, now they have stepped up to breaking them down to much smaller pieces for $40-ish. I should have bought a bunch last year..... oh well.
A word of caution when purchasing these larger wild colonies you will need to take a very close look for Nudibranchs, Spiders and Sundial Snails, all zoa/paly pests and more common than you'd expect. So DIP DIP DIP then inspect again.

Cheers, Todd

yes good idea. I did not dip them. I supose I should dip all the corals i get in my shipment tomorrow huh. What dip do you recommend

My routine depends on what Coral I'm dipping and what potential pests there may be. Typically for zoa/paly I will do a 10-15 minute dip in Coral RX slightly over dosed, fresh SW rinse/bath then a 10-15 minute dip in Lugols. The Iodine of Lugols Solution is good for slightly staining any nudis/snails and associated eggs there may be for easy spotting during inspection. I then do a quick rinse and into DT if no pests are detected. If pests are present will keep in a separate QT for a bit and re-dip/inspect before placing in DT. Great find for a great price on your colonies Joe.

Cheers, Todd

Forgot to mention an important step in the dip procedure: I use a small pipette and soft toothbrush to blow off and gently brush in and around all polyps. I inspect not only the coral and LR rubble its on but the water at bottom of dip container very closely.

Cheers, Todd
