Hi,

Currently have a filefish in QT that has developed a weird looking spot on the tip of it's horn. Almost looks like a little cotton ball. No other lesions seen. Fish has been in QT now roughly 30 days and just developed the spot a few days ago. Otherwise acting fine and eating great. Tank is currently on copper treatment which was initiated during the beginning of quarantine. Also had prazipro on arrival and even went through a treatment cycle with kanaplex, furan-2, and metroplex (other fish looked like it had a bacterial infection). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Looks like Lymph, it's a virus and doesn't tend to pose an issue unless it grows over the mouth or gills. Good quality water and diet can help it clear up. You can also add supplements such a selcon or vitachem to his food if you want to give him an extra boost.

Either lymph like @GHsaltie mentioned, or a bacterial growth.

I had something similar appear on a clownfish I was QT'ing, coincidentally while treating with copper and the same antibiotics. The antibiotics didn't really help the growth in my case...a rally bath helped a bit, but eventually it just went away on it's own.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll just watch him and feed good food for the time being. I do have some selcon on hand so I'll use that.
