I don't know if this is a macroalgae, sea sponge, or something else.

Someone please help with an ID!

Sponge. I've seen ones that were virtually identical come in on Florida gulf live rock. Usually, since it was shipped out of water, they're on their way out by the time we get them... but if it's healthy, great addition to the reef :)

That is a sponge, I agree! Very neat!

Yup, sponge. Very beneficial filtering to you reef when they are doing well. But the one in the pic on the right is mostly dead. If its getting worse, remove it. It's just decaying into your system.
Sponges are filter feeders and are very had to keep alive long term in captivity. And they tend to not like the high light in our tanks. Turn over your rock or look in your sump and that's where you tend to see sponge growth.
Some last longer than others and I find the ones like you have are some of the first to go south on me. Yellow ball sponges last much longer in my tank.
When I do acquire them, I enjoy their beauty for as long as I can, knowing they won't last forever. :)

Don't worry guys, I'm working a marine science camp and just was getting frustrated I couldn't get a positive ID

The orange sponge is Red Beard, common along the northeast coast. The yellow . . . I don't know, looks like a sponge, but don't know the species.
