Noticed this thing a few days ago and couldn’t get a pic of it until today.

It only comes out when the lights are off and hides when I put a flashlight on it. Looks like some kind of snail but I am not sure what it is and if it is harmless or not.

Sorry for the crappy photos, hopefully you can make it out.

Center in all of these pics.

I believe I see two rhinophores.....it's a nudibranch!

I'd suggest removing it.

Let's get some more eyes on this.... #reefsquad

I agree, take him out.

Here is an isolated picture of the creature. What I see are two rhinophores (antenna like protrusions) at the top of the creature, with the body covered with short cerata. I'm sticking with nudibranch!

Sea-hares and Stomatella snails (which have a tiny, atrophied shell that resembles a fingernail) are good-guys.

This guy definitely does not look like the typical zoa-eating or Montipora eating nudibranchs we commonly see.

~Bruce (who would have said "Stomatella" as well)

Yes it does have 2 rhinophores

I have a stomatella snail and it looks nothing like this in person, it’s soft shell is rounder and doesn’t flex like the body on this does.

So I should pull this?

Thanks!

A few weeks ago I was able to pull this guy along with another I found. Here is hopefully a better pic so I can get help with the id.

I had 2 of my frogspawn get eaten and wondering if this guy and his potential friends could have been the culprit .

Stomatella snail good CUC!

That’s a big one. Cool shell pattern.

@KJ have you seen them with a split tail before? (Maybe it’s just an old injury) Mine all have solid light colored body. I’ve seen all black ones before as well. This is the first I’ve seen with that pattern.

Looks like some kind of injury!
