Some help please

Just picked up a pre owned tank for my sons bedroom. After a deep clean we found this sitting on the gravel bed.

Can anybody identify this?

Does it stay or go?

To me looks like Feather dusters. When you touch it or if you move it, it withdraws its red crown in the tube?

Looks like a feather duster of some sort that grew up against the glass. I would’ve left it.
