I got a big colony of Zoas and there were 2 of these on the branch...a week later they were no longer on the branch but on a totally different rock. One of them split/grew another polyp. Are these a form of an anemone?

It is purple with green skirts. Within the purple it looks like fairy dust(white spots).

It looks like a Mojano anemone...I dont think i spelled it right, but thats what it looks like to me. You cant miss with "Joe's Juice" To get ri of any pest anemones...some people also sell a nudibranch that is great for getting rid of them. I cant really tell...you dont have a better pic??

I looked up some pics of a majano on the net and this thing does not look like any them. The tentacle/skirts are real short like a poly or zoa.

They are neozoanthus. I bought some on ebay and have had them in a grow out tankat the Georgia Aquarium for amonth while we study them in depth. They can drop off the rock and they willspread very slowly and locally.

They seem be pretty and harmless.
