In this week's installment of rock scrubbing, dunking, and swishing (cooking my rook while working on my rebuild) I noticed what one might think were vermited snails with long tubes...except they aren't vermited snails. (This week's kill was in the 10s, last week the 100s).
Of course, I couldn't get them to show up well in any pictures either. They seemed to be on one rock only.
They look like long, pale vermited snail tubes...couple cm long but are soft and rubbery rather than seeming calcified. There is no 'swirl' at the base of the tube, in fact, there was no clear base...they seemed to be growing straight out of the rocks. They were not easily scrapped off with a screwdriver either because they were so flexible. I couldn't tell if the tubes were hallow either so not sure if solid or just a small opening.
Any ideas? Definitely not the little feather dusters I have elsewhere or vermited snails.
