Could someone please ID this algae? Its been fairly slow growing, and at first I thought it was hair algae. But it looks clear and hazey, not green and hairy if that makes sense...

Not that I noticed.. I've been away for 1.5 weeks with work now and I have someone maintaining/feeding the tank while I'm gone so unless some grew and died during that time I'm not too sure. Did a nice water change and tested everything before I left (0 nitrates, 0 phosphates, 420 calcium, 1380 mag, 10 dKH). Hopefully it is dead GHA!

There is not a lot of information on Chrysophytes in marine tanks.

Some of the anecdotal posts point to the algae/ or dino hitch-hiking in. Some hobbyist have treated it like you would treat Dino. Some hobbyist have reported more incidents of the growth when using egg create for frag racks. Like Dino it typically burns it's self out after a couple months.

Sorry not a lot of scientific information, you just do not see it that often.

Wow that's funny because I just put an egg crate frag rack in two weeks ago
