ID on nice mother colony

Oh my goodness i guess this is the double edged sword of technology!
what i mean by that is some people attach different emotions to what they are reading that may not necessarily be accurate.
The way i write is very precise and to the point but someone reading at home may attach different emotions to the text they read.
So first off id like to address those who feel negatively about my responses and ask that you not attach emotions to the text you read...

Why ask if everyone's answer is wrong or not what you want to hear?

Am i hearing everyone's opinion yes, are their answers wrong Maybe,.. a simple side by side comparison rules out what ive heard so far, i cant help it if the answer is wrong right?

SO let me get this straight, you don't know what they are but you slam everyone who responds with a guess/answer? It's no wonder why things are the way they are now days.

i apologize if it sounds like im slamming anyone im just trying to make sure i respond to everyone. I am very passionate about zoas and maybe its just that im going a bir crazy over here because as a zoa addict and i know these beauts have a name. My response to "the way things are the way they are today" is i agree with you but not necessarily on the point you make, i feel this is a case of attaching negative emotions to a rather die hard zoa addict's responses.

Thanks for the pictures, they shed some light on why i disagreed with the idea of fruitloops or scrambled eggs...
I think your right about them being some sort of deepwaters, i've had experience with other deepwaters and they come off to me as having similar characteristics.
Maybe i'll just call them Deepwater Japs since i might not find a specific name (that branding just sounds awesome anyways)
i know how ridiculous the naming game can get in the Zoa and Paly collection area and chasing names gets old after a while. You just come to a point where names are irrelevant, as longs as the coral is stunning thats all that matters. But still, the names are like an itch that i have to learn to ignore.

It's not scrambled eggs nor fruit loops.

I've seen it somewhere but couldn't recall the name. It's nice no matter what...must be some kind of Japanese deep water Zoas.

To me a nice Zoas to have in your tank is all the matter, a nice name would be a plus but not necessary unless you want to retail/sales it.

Eagle eyes or whaming watermelons. Sorry dude they don't look like anything else to me.

CherryCorals has some that look very similar to what i have which can be seen in the background picture of Monarchs listed on their site, but i cant find a listing for the ones similar to mine. Here is the picture from CC's site...

I know you want them to be something super rare and special but in my opinion they're eagle eyes. Maybe in person they might be different the only thing you can do is go buy a frag of eagle eyes and do a side by side shot. My eagle eyes are from vietnam where 90% of all eagle eyes in the us come from and on the side by side they look identical to yours. It's my opinion please do not take offense as i'm not trying to put you down or anything.

deepwater eagle eyes. Brighter yellow skirt and a little more orange but after a while they look just like the other regular ones.

YESS my colony is true to the colors in the photo if not truer in person, a true orange color with no hint of red body or green skirts whatsoever. Its been in my system since summer and has never morphed or changed any colors so im positive the colors hold true to the zoanthids... they look almost exactly like the Juicy fruits on your site!!!! but i think your juicy fruits may be Eagle Eyes LOL i kid, i kid...
I truly really appreciate everyone's input into the id of my colony its great that we as a community can come together and help one another out.
As a respect for the firm beliefs as to the id of the colony i will from here on out brand them as JUICY EAGLES

A lot of the zoas look similar... They may not even have a name, if it doesnt come with a name when you buy it then more than likely it doesnt have a name...

Here is a pic of my whammin watermelons. Remember diff lighting conditions will make subtle tweaks to how each individuals zoas look changing them slightly but keeping the same general foundation.

Juicy fruits have a thin orange inner ring and big center the ones posted cover almost the whole body and small center. Juicy fruits are sick i still say eagle eye lol. I guess someone was just waiting for an id he liked lol

A little confused here on where the passion lies. Thought this thread started as an ID match so a price could be set not because the zoas were so liked that they wouldnt all be for sale. Is that were we sit on these - $32 a polyp that was the highest price point for an ID suggestion yet.?. If it was my buddy - I would cut it in 2 - keep 1/2 cause I love um - and set them up with the other at a good price cause theyre my buddy. Hopefully this doesn't come off offensive as that wasnt the intention and I hope you satisfy the name ich - just calling it like I see it. right

I have changed the way I utilize names with my corals as this can be a result most times. 1st if I cant find a name than I get to call it what my immagination sees and that is always fun. 2nd I stamp it with my origin. I.E AFJ(afamousjohnson). AFJ spacemonsters for one and AFJ orange dragon eyes for another ex. That way people know where it came from - since I mostly deal locally.

Like if I ever got 1 of those amazing zoas out of Josh's collection I would call it JPS anything - cause anything from that collection is amazing.lol

First off my intent was ultimately in identifying what I have at hand as I pride myself as a zoa collector and I like to know what I have in my tank, asking for value was out of curiosity to make sure I wasnt letting go a $100pp colony go for pennies. I'm tired of trying to defend myself as it seems this is turning into a feeding frenzy. Accusations of hearing only what I wanted to hear for best price evaluations or any other reasons are out right ridiculous and you should be ashamed of making that claim. I agreed with PlanetZoa because he offered the closest match to what I have. You did NOT hear me call them Juicy Fruits! Rather identified them as Juicy Eagles as an ode to the vast seemingly unwarranted conflict this forum has aroused. I am disappointed that fellow reefers would treat a fellow hobbyist in this manner. And am ashamed to be part of the reef 2 reef community today.

I am sorry to post again in this thread but I am a supporter of R2R and what it has to offer and not ashamed to say so for future hobbiests that search this thread for reference. It is here to help folk in exactly this situation and more. Often we dont like hearing an answer that isn't the direction we are looking for( specific OP's for this type of scenerio thread) and this happens sometimes due to opposing directions. But every question here on R2R opens exactly that - opinions to different views. If you ask it please be open because you are looking for an answer.

I checked out the tank in the youtube feed BCR. Diggin it man and keep up the good work. but as far as this convo is concernered it was helpful and productive I would think. Never reached a happy medium, but in a silver lining made an incridible search for eagle eyes or whammin watermelon zoas as those are some sweet pics thru this thread wouldnt you agree. Think in the end There are a lot of contradicting views and all are great when someone like yourself is searching for an answer.

that was my professional side talking...I have a hobbiest opinion as well ..- I dont engulf myself in threads that end in this manner and stay out of aurrguments but you may have felt feeding frenzy - others saw answers so thanks for the question and future members will enjoy the answers they get from this thread. I noticed not many other zoas in your collection..... just an addition?? maybe the 1st? How much are juicy eagles going for now a days...I am guessing $32 a polyp. Sorry fellow R2R members - I couldnt help it here. I love this site and it is an increddible asset for any hobbiest in need weather it be ID or a save my tank or hello or what have you.

As a sign of good faith as R2R is here to be awesome - If you ever get over to cali - due to this thread - hit me up - i will set you up with a mix to add to your collection. whatever I have on hand at the moment but I rock some space monsters, king midas, tons of PE nd any other random polyp I find around. Those should help you on your way and i would be glad to assist. I will actually be in houstan in a couple weeks on my way down south but coral carry on doesnt fit the wifes fancy.

R2R = global coverge - if you need an answer... 1+1 = your best bet R "2" R for any answer or just the support any hobbiest needs.
