ID on something growing on a Goni frag

It looks furry (didnt attempt to touch it or squeeze it). Has a hole in it for access maybe? Some body made a house maybe?

That spikey ball looks to be a pineapple sponge to me. Harmless filter feeders, not pretty or difficult to cut away if you so choose.
