those are the coral's mesenterial filaments, essentially what a coral releases when punctured or injured. It looks to me like some salt dropped on the surface causing it the release them, the wound should heal in a few hours though and I honestly wouldn't worry unless the filaments stay out.
 
Do i need to gently blow it using a turkey baster?
