Got this as a freebie from a coral trade. When I first got it its only as big as a dollar coin and a week later now its as big as tea plate. Few research shows its a fire or magic carpet mushroom.

Questions are, since its big is there a risk it might eat my fishes? Wil it develop other colors? Does it stings neighboring corals? Thanks in advance and happy reefing.

Its lavander frilly mushroom , rhodactis indosinesis, they can get HUGE I have a nice colony of them, they can and do eat meaty foods , so small fish could be dinner if you dont feed them. Awesome score !

Thanks. I got this too a while ago as a hairy mushroom. Are they the same?
