Yep, Aiptasia. Several different management strategies on this blog. BTW, air bubbles and what looks to be red slime might indicate dinoflagellates and cyanobacteria - probably want to research those pests while you're at it.

Good luck; pest management is part of reefing

Oh man i will research all 3! I thought the brown color was diatoms because its a fairly new tank

+1 for Cyano. For the diatoms/dinos, try brushing it off the rock. If it comes off as a powder or disperses, it’s most likely diatoms. If it comes off in strings, it’s dinos

I recently got rid of dinos in my tank. I just reduced the lights to the bare minimum for the corals and left it on that schedule for 3-4 weeks. Everyone has their own tips and tricks though! Id also recommend using a siphon to suck out any you see, along with the Cyano.

So this is my settings for my light cycle .. do you think its too much? Thank you again guys for the information

I think I did 3 hour ramps with 3-4 hours of 60% in the middle. It’s good that you have red and green low- honestly depends on what kind of tank and what kind of corals you have. Just keep the water clean, lights at a minimum and filter out any dinos you see. I’d recommend a sock or a net to catch them!

I used a 1 micron sock bought from Amazon to siphon out dinos and then returned water to tank. Most reefers also find that a properly sized UV light is very effective, especially against ovata species.

No one has asked, so I will: what are your readings for nitrate and phosphate? If they are very low another tactic is to raise them by feeding more or dosing.

Some reefers add bacteria during the day and 1 ml/10 gal of h202 at night.

Phosphate pretty much non existent
Ammonia >0.25ppm
Nitrite 0
Nitrates in between 5.0 and 10ppm
Calcium mid 400sppm
Salinity 1.029
Try to keep the tank between 77.5f low and 79.5f highest ..
only have 2 clowns couple blue leg hermits, some snails and a handful of easy hardy corals for now figured id let the tank mature a little
