Id on this?

Hey guys. Had a green slimer die and now has a few aiptasia on the back side. However it looks like small..... Almost xenia like something is growing completely around it. It's not more aiptasia, any idea? Excuse the water, middle of a water change!

Hard to see, but I'd guess some kind of "clove polyps" (this common name is used for a ton of species similar to xenia; some of them are fine, others are highly invasive).

Absolutely no idea where they could have come from. I thought green slimers were pretty easy, but it died fairly quickly lol.

2 years now roughly with everything. We moved 2 tanks together to this 125 a year ago though.

Dang that sucks. Seems like that slimer should’ve done better. Hope you figure out why it croaked. I’d love to be able to keep fuzzy sticks one day lol

It kinda half browned half greyed out, I'm thinking high phosphate which I constantly battle. Lights could have also been it too quickly.

When SPS brown it is usually a sign of inadequate lighting. This causes them to go into overdrive with regard to producing zooxanthellae. In addition to your lighting, it could be a nutrient issue. What are your parameters?
