Can anyone I'd these reddish orange balls. I thought maybe a type of bubble algae but I'm not sure. They are pretty small, smaller than a pencil eraser. Maybe half the size. One seems to almost look like a polyp. Sorry pic quality isn't the best.

Hmm, never seen that! Part of that coral above that’s growing?? Do you have any mushrooms in your tank anywhere?
I should have added this was given to me. Its currently sitting in one of my secondary tanks. Ive had for about 2 weeks. Im wondering is its something I need to remove. Maybe a dip? scrub the rock?

I might be mistaken but I do think it is a Red bubble algae. Yes it pops up quickly but can be removed. I take it out of the tank and use tweezers to pull them off, then rinse the rock in tank water before returning it to the tank.
would you recommend a dip? I've never dipped coral before but have been researching it with Bayer

It's always good practice to dip corals although I'm hit and miss because I like the biodiversity that can be introduced by not dipping a coral, problem is you run the risk of adding bad stuff as well as good so the sensible play is to dip them.

The dip will not clear the red bubble algae though, you'll have to follow the advice above to do that

Thank you. You believe this is a sponge?

I believe their are a lot of hitch hikers that are good. I am all about biodiversity. I use diver collected live rock from Gulf if Mexico, that goes straight into my tanks, some of which have been set up for 25 years.

I received a few sponges yesterday.

Unfortunately I can't seem to get a better pic. Thanks everyone for the help. I'm going to scrub the rock best I can to try and remove it all. I might even cut the rock if needed.
