I have been battling this algae for months now and can’t get it gone. I’ve tried fluconazole, scrubbing the major areas, 100 blue leg hermits, 100 trocus snails, Mexican turbo’s, Cerith, nassarius snails, conchs, yellow tang, powder brown tang, sailfin tang, Kole tang, two angels (majestic and regal), and it’s still over powering the tank. The blue legs work in patches but they are too slow. Plus, I have three triggers that eat my snails and crabs. I am skimming constantly, only feeding pellets once a day, frozen twice a week for once each day, seaweed daily for the tangs, have tried all the bacteria’s in a bottle, UV sterilizer, and use carbon and a small dual brs reactor with GFO and carbon. Just bought a larger GFO reactor that is more suiting to the size of the system (300 gal DT and 100 gal sump). I don’t trust my readings because I am guessing they are off due to the crazy amount of algae. The sump is over growing with GHA and my cheato is barely hanging on. Was thinking of using vibrant, but my sps were really getting ticked at me for the fluconazole. So I’m worried about losing them too. Lights are brand new now. Lighting cycle is on peak for 5 hours with a three hour ramp up and an two hour ramp down. Thoughts? Is this really GHA? I’m assuming so, but doesn’t hurt to verify.
