Hi all, finally getting over white sludge in my tank when another problem took over. Started to notice this white root looking stuff growing over the sand bed. Started to remove it by hand but it grows back with a vengence and spreads fast. Its starting to cover the base of some of my rocks now. Anyone know what it is and how I can get rid of it? Thanks

Thomas

I had something similar in my sump(pic below)....posted here in the forums and was told it was a baby white sponge and nothing to worry about. Haven't actually seen any in my DT though. I also have a lot of pineapple sponges growing in my sump AND the DT but from what I have gathered, it is nothing to worry about and a sign of the tank maturing as long as they don't get out of hand.

yes its about 4-5 months old thus far. Is there a good way to stop their growth or best to let them run their course? Very few corals and just 2 clowns. Just doing a weekly 1 gallon water change ( 10 gal tank) at the moment.
