Found this little guy. Has almost calcium like tubes, no elongated snout or tail, very compact body under the shell.

Take it out and get a better view of it at the side in a glass jar of saltwater while its movin about, could be a whelk, conch or dove snail, or some other kind of nassarius snail in the family Dog Whelks
 
My first impression based on the numerous layers/ridges visible on the snail is some kind of Muricid snail, but - as mentioned - closer pics of the top (straight on), side(s) (straight on), and bottom (straight on) would be helpful for ID attempts.

Yeah, I don't know the species, but there's a very good chance that's a predatory snail. So, you probably don't want it in your display (it'll probably eat your CUC snails).
