Cup coral.

Ball tip anemone is my best guess. Typically harmless.

Are these cup coral? Not sponge puffs and tunicates and pods lol the cup shaped translucent with white dots on end of tentacles. Not Aptasia, they sometimes disappear and Don't seem to grow when they show back up. Been seeing these for years and thought I'd run by the experts!!

Looks like a Ball Tip Anemone to me.

Sure, it's rare that they become invasive. In heavily feed tanks their numbers may increase.

Wow, thanks so much you reef guru, just found Julian Sprung article in Advancedaquarist that says form of mushroom coral, as 2012, ok for reef. He has pis of Strawberry Anenomes, mine are clear but same family! Thank-you! Debra

Yeah, we got this huge piece of coral back in 1980 or so. It's been pretty Canabalized since we added live rock 20 yrs ago! The blue sponges are inside the "bat cave" in the lower portion! Sally Saifin loves it lol
