ID please: purple lump

I've had a light purple spot on my live rock for months, but now I have 2, and 1 has grown into a lump. The lump now has some white spots on it. Wha?! What is this?

I cant tell from the pics but i would have to assume corline algae from what i can see.

Well, I went out of town for a few days and came back to just the original purple disc. Very strange...

It didn't have antennae, nor did it seem to have eyes or a mouth. It was lavender. The white bits almost looked like polyps on a coral that were pulled in. I would've guessed a coral of some sort.
