Id please... whelks of some sort?

Found a few of these... some tiny, some the size of a nass snail.

I'm pretty sure they're whelks of some sort. Don't seem to be harming anything but are reproducing so wanna be sure!

They only come onto the rock, never in the sand and only at night... during the day they hide under rocks. The mouth is black and white stripes, shell banded browns.

Looks like a whelk to me. I would say you could remove them with confidence, and haste ;).
