In between my zoas and the Xenia, something with polyps has suddenly appeared and is waving its polyps around, bugging the zoas next to it. Any ideas?

A "pest" anemone (most hobbyists would just call it Aiptasia) - it's generally recommended to remove pest nems.

Can I pluck it out with tweezers or is this a peppermint shrimp job?
Edit: whoops, wrong thread - no don't use tweezers for pest nems; things like kalkwasser injections or something are safer (sorry, tired and distracted right now).

you'll never get it with tweezers. If you do it will spew babies into the area. F-aiptasia or AiptasiaX will work well. I have never had luck with peppermint shrimp.

Kalkwasser paste on them is the same as f aiptasia or aiptasia X at a fraction of the cost.
Peppermint shrimps do a great job as well.

Peppermint shrimp acquired! How long should I wait to see if the shrimp eats it before I go to kalkwasser?

Never mind- I woke up today to an empty spot where the aptasia was! Thanks, peppermint shrimp!
