Hi all,

I purchased this copper band butterfuly on Sunday July 14th.
When I got it I didn’t do any sort of quarantine as my lfs fishes are always healthy.
when I put it in the tank on Sunday it got bullied by my lemon tank but that only lasted a day max.
Since then it has been eating extremely well.
On Wednesday I noticed some white spots on it but no unusual behaviors.
Can you please let me know what it could be and what to do. IMG_1954.jpeg IMG_1955.jpeg IMG_1957.jpeg IMG_1958.jpeg IMG_1956.jpeg IMG_1953.jpeg IMG_1952.jpeg IMG_1951.jpeg

Only spots I see currently are lymphocystis which this fish commonly gets. Lympho is a condition and not disease. Often its associated with water quality issue as simple as elevated ammonia or nitrate and can be that of water from LFS and not yours. Assure to provide Good water quality monitored by a reliable test kit and feed nutritious food with fats such as LRS nano frenzy and mysis shrimp.

Looking at the pectoral fins - I think this looks like Ich.

my nitrate is 21 at the moment. Ammonia is ofcourse 0.
I feed pretty much best possible food out there and being feeding twice a day since I saw the issue.
if it was ich would it stop eating ?

It would not necessarily stop eating but there will be signs such as dots, sluggish behavior, elevated breathing as examples. Again, if ich, number of dots will increase daily and I dont go by dots on fins as ich will generally start on body and spread to fins as they host on a given fish.

The diffuse spots on the pectoral fin looks like ich. You won’t see a change in the fish’s behavior until the disease progresses further - then you’ll see lethargy and not eating, followed by death.
Do you have a treatment tank? This has the potential of getting all of your fish sick.

Not until/unless the disease progresses.
