Here is a picture of the confusa from the corals of the world, and this is how mine looks like when you get a large colony, mine grows the same way at home

Click to expand... ORAs Spongodes is Montipora spongodes, confusa is a completely different Montipora species. So it's one or the other. I was leaning toward spongodes because of the dome-like tips. Confusa would be more rigid tipped. Time will give a better answer.
