The yellowish spots on my rock are new formations in the last couple of days. I had a white sponge like substance growing

And was advised to add hermits and snails. The yellow did not start til after their addition. Not sure if there is a correlation or not.

Looks like Diatoms and Sponge growth. The diatoms will take care of themselves in time, not to worry. Sponge are harmless.

Yea couple if weeks old, which is the diatoms? Yellow or white. The white stuff is all but gone thanks to the hermits and snails
