Is this more cyno bacteria or is this actually good algae growing?

It's simply just a tank collecting detritus, neither good or bad. The tank will evolve and you'll see different blooms and collections of just stuff, in 4 months the tank should settle down, no need to worry.

Agree, nothing to worry about at this stage. I ran my tank for a year before I put algae eating fish in it. It was a beautiful collection of macro algae. The fish quickly took care of it. I used to take rocks out and put them in a different tank and the algae would grow back and then I'd put it back in with the fish. So the rocks are still growing algae, but the fish, Powder Blue mainly, keep it cropped so you can't see it.

alright thanks for the help. have to work on today taking my salinity down from 1.030

I don't see anything. Detritus is usually brown on glass or sand and rock. Sand looks clean. What are we looking at?

I'm looking at the hair like what ever is is on the rock as well as the purple/red spots showing up on the rock

The purple on the top left of thst right rock looks like sponge of some sort. The "hair" is normal algae growth and will go away with a clean up crew. Snails, hermits etc... I don't see red.
