They're the same thing. there are a few types of them but feather, feather duster, etc are all typical names that are used to refer to them.

I have feather worms, these are more like a palm tree. They do not pulse

I've not known feather dusters to pulse. There are a few types. Did you look at the link I provided? There are pictures.

Can you take a picture of what you have that pulses?

Sure, but these don't pulse either.
I was sure these are the feather dusters
I checked the link, but this new pic shows the duster and more of these palm trees things, off white, very small

I just see feather dusters in that picture. They will retract if the light changes or if they capture some food. Maybe that's what you are seeing?

thanks for the quick reply, the dusters have longer tenicales, these palm trees just don't move same
