The whitish globular thing on the lower right of my GSP. In the first picture, you can see that I removed a chunk of it with a pair of forceps. The second picture is the piece I pulled off with the forceps. I can tell you that it seems very spongy and pretty soft and that the piece I pulled off came off very easily.

It's just a harmless sponge. No worries.

They come in all colors I have green purple and white in my tank
