What is this coral called? My LFS sold me this coral and told me to place it high in my tank. Is that correct?

Cyphastrea! It does well in moderate flow and lighting. Just make sure that you are ok with wherever you put it being encrusted by it :)

I would try and place it where the toadstool was. And see how it does.
Edit - Just remember as stated above that where ever you put it to make sure you are ready for it to encrust over the whole rock.

Any of the above locations will be fine just know that it will pretty much kill most any other corals it touches as it grows, at least ones it came in contact with. Mine grows like a weed even under the rock it's on where it just gets a little light light from reflection. Neat looking just try and isolate it to a separate rock if possible.

Have you looked into a birdsnest? Its the green one to the left. They are really pretty. Here is a picture of one of ours. This one was a frag from our mother colony.

Wow i really like that, what is the one to its right? that is pretty too. also would you recommend just one on that rock or maybe like 2 or 3, this is a 14 galon aquarium. thx for ur help reall apreciate it

To the right (red) is supposed to be a encrusting montipora but it tends to plate out sometimes. We always have to trim the monti back because it does start to kill the birdsnest. You only want to add what you can handle. We test our parameters frequently. We do dose alkalinity in the tank this one is in. You always want to make sure you keep everything stable. Your other corals look healthy so I'm sure you keep an eye on everything. We have a red digitata growing with the mother colony in our 75g reef. The birdsnest does kill some of the digi but it is now growing the other way. There are many corals that are beautiful so your best bet is to pick out a few you like and do some research or post on here to get some answers on if they will grow peacefully next to one another. You can check out live Aquaria and look at some of there corals. I believe they have compatibility charts and the type of lighting needed for the coral on there as well. Let us know what you decide:)
