And another new critter that just popped out of no where!

Good or bad?

I don’t like it :(

Yes, population is due to food source in the aquarium. Over feeding normally causes a larger number of them. There great scavengers and can get to places most critters can't. Just don't touch with your bare hands.
 
I appreciate it’s beneficial however I can’t live with it, it freaks me out.
I’ve just taken the rock out. How long can they live out of water?

Will they outlive the bacteria on the rock? Or should I maybe direct some boiling water in the hole that it’s in?
 
If that's a bristleworm not a problem however if there's one there's more. They burrow in the sandbed or under rocks. You shouldn't see them unless you lift up rocks or shine a light in the middle of the night. Other worms look like that too. Check out Lionfish Lairs guide to hitchhikers
