In my colony of dragon eye Zoas, there are a bunch of holes that look like dried up polyps from the past. In one of the holes, this thing keeps popping out - looks like a feather duster to clean the house with, with a black pattern on it. Forgive me if the picture is blurry at all - every time I go to take a picture it disappears and then pops back out a few min later. What the heck is this? Is it ok?

Actually that is a "Feather Duster" and it's good. It's a filter feeder and good for your tank. So does your critter look like this:

I can’t really see in the picture but my guess is vermetid snails from your description
