bought some brs reef saver rock back in jan and this is growing out of it. looks like a mushroom but has an odd shape to it. thanks for any input.

If you're referring to the thing that looks like a brown paper bag it's probably a Phaeophyte. Over here on the coasts of CA we have something called Leathesia (several species) that have that appearance, and I believe they are found all over the world

thats interesting. sure sounds like it after doing some googling. i think i will let it be and see what happens. thanks for the info.
