Id please

Looking for a ID for this crab my buddy bought today. The LFS said it was a hermit but i have never seen a hermit this big.

I have one too, I don’t know what it is but I’ve had it at least ten years... it’s even survived copper (thought it was dead couldn’t find it to remove it).

Looks like Dardanus pedunculatus

or its a dardanus tinctor

before starting in this hobby i was looking up anemone crabs and found yours. what i wanted was a pom-pom crab (Lybia edmondsoni) ! but didnt know if those small little anemones will take over my tank!
i can still be dead wrong on the id though

clibinarius species? Might be superficial but resembles a clibinarius vittatus i had without the lines.

Got as a hitchhiker with my live rock. Got rid of because it would topple stuff over. Liked Babylon snail shells.

Disregard didnt see one the dimorphic claws.

^ plus dardanus tinctor is the only species that i have seen with consistent red bands on the eye stalks. along with the dull khaki body.
