I just got a new anthias fish today and a piece of this algae was attached to the net and went in the bag.

The guy told me what it was and said it was good but I forget what he called it.

Should I continue to grow this out in the sump?

Gracilaria, herbivore fish will eat it with gusto. Not always easy to grow though

Another question. Can I put this and Cheto in the same area of the refuge or will the Cheto out grow and smother it?

You should be able to mix them. The potential issue I see the that your gracilaria culture is so small. You would likely do better with a larger chunk.
