ID please

Anybody know what this is? It looks like something molted but I don't really have any inverts these days, my puffer took care of them. It was hard to get a picture since my tang has been chewing on it.

Looks like a crab molt to me. They can hide pretty well. Or remnants of a crab that was eaten.

Could it be a hermit? It's possible one or two may have survived. Other than that it's been years since I've seen a crab

It's possible but the shape looks like a regular crab to me.

It does look like a crab to me as well. Lots of things can stay hidden in a reef

Odd. Ya that's what it looks like to me too. Maybe it learned not to show its face when it's buddies got eaten.
