^ +1 on a macro algae. I am not an expert on specific species IDs for macro, but experience has shown it should turn into a kelp like algae. I have some growing in my fuge, in my display it doesnt grow, my tangs eat any macro that exists in my 125.

Looks more like some sort of nemastoma sp. to me, but hard to tell with that pic.

It’s looks identical to the one in the first picture

If it's fairly stiff, while still being slippery, I'd still suggest nemostoma, and if so, consider selling it to a collector. It's one of the most sought after macroalgaes. I think you'd find plenty of folks looking to pay ~$30+ fast shipping for a frag plug size piece. I'd jump all over it if my tanks were mature enough.

Got a better picture here, it is fairly stiff, got about six now growing on one piece of live rock, the biggest about an inch tall. Don’t know how to frag, I’m new to the hobby and still learning as much as possible.

Good stuff. While you may not know how to cultivate it, nature has had 4.5 billion years to work out details. Enjoy the ride.
