0 nitrates and 0 phosphates aren’t a good thing. Cyano likes: low flow, low nutrients and low lights. Don’t need all 3 for cyano. But, your low levels are the potential cause
Flow is tough to judge visually. Corals come from turbulent reefs. Sometimes people think it’s a lot but in reality corals are more resilient to heavy flow than we think. What pumps are you using? How large the tank?My nitrates were decent a few days ago but have dropped. Not sure why or what to do about that. Flow is definitely not an issue, seems like too much at times.
Those are powerful. Flow probably not the issue. I wouldn’t lower lights like you previously stated. Cyano is a bacteria not an algae. I’d feed some frozen food heavy and try to get your nutrients up unless you are having algae issues too.180 gallon, 6'x2'x2', 2 maxspect xf250. They blow sand around on the bottom of the tank, I can't even keep the sand halfway flat.
No real algae issues, I had some GHA after the diatoms went away but it started receding and then this popped up. I'll feed a little more than usual. Thoughts on shutting my skimmer down for a day or 2?Those are powerful. Flow probably not the issue. I wouldn’t lower lights like you previously stated. Cyano is a bacteria not an algae. Add some more fish. In a 180 only set up a month you probably have a very light bio-load as well
It will help raise the nutrients. No real algae issues, I had some GHA after the diatoms went away but it started receding and then this popped up. I'll feed a little more than usual. Thoughts on shutting my skimmer down for a day or 2?
Yea. I’m a quarantine guy. With a 180 you should always have a fish or a few in quarantine and be reloading every couple months till your tank is full. Get a Tang and feed heavy. The Tang will destroy any algae that pops upI added 2 occ clowns after the tank cycled and just added 3 wrasse last week. I want planning to add another fish for a month or so but I guess I could speed the process up a little and get the next fish. The problem is adding a fish I don't know is healthy could cause a lot more issues.
My next fish was set to be a magnificent foxface but my guy doesn't have one in stock for me yet. I may have to go with a bicolor or something else.Yea. I’m a quarantine guy. That’s a whole different topic and one you don’t want me in. I would never put a bi-color in a reef. But, many will disagreeMy next fish was set to be a magnificent foxface but my guy doesn't have one in stock for me yet. I may have to go with a bicolor or something else.

Really? I’ve never had one but curious as to why. That’s a whole different topic and one you don’t want me in. I would never put a bi-color in a reef. But, many will disagree
Same here, I'd definitely like to hear others opinions before I get one.Really? I’ve never had one but curious as to why.
Opps different fishI'm confused, the bicolor foxface was what I was talking about before. I thought that could grow to 8-9"?
