I recently moved my tank in July when we moved into a new apartment. I never had this grey blob stuff until we moved. Any help with an ID and possible cause? Amonia, nitrates and nitrites all at zero and pH is at 7.9-8.0 (it's always been that low, but healthy fish and corals though)
I suck this crap up with my turkey baster and it's back within a couple of days. Tank has been established since January. It's a 75 gallon

Considering your tank is recently (January is recent) set up, I don’t see a problem that is not typical for a new tank. Continue sand bed maintenance using gravel vac every water change.

Zero nitrogen is not desirable and often contributes to nuisance algae. Zero nitrogen & zero phosphate is a time bomb for Dino to thrive.

Thank you. I've been told it's cyano (spelling?) Bacteria. I recently changed what LFS I get my water from, so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. I might go back to buying gallon jugs of rodi water from Walmart or Kroger since it's the same price, just harder to mix

Cynobacteria is normal in our aquariums. When competition is eliminated with zero nutrients, Cynobacteria thrives

I think you should feed more and stop chasing numbers like zero nutrients.
