I cant seem to catch him. I put a bottle in the water with straws coming out and put a brick of frozen mysis in it. Nothing even tried to get in to eat it. If it's just a scavenger that's cool but if there is a chance it will mess with coral I'll keep trying. The ones that aren't stretching so hard are much less blue.

Looks like a bristle worm to me. Part of the clean up crew. Leave it usually eat decaying matter.

This is what I tried. any suggestions of change? I left it in so long that the shrimp decayed and boosted nitrates solidly. That's the pick when I just put the snail it was eating in. A couple days later I changed to shrimp.

Looks too much like a fireworm to me, but could be a bristle. I'd keep trying to remove it.

Victory!!! Figured out how to make a better one. I melted bottle some and push a small screw driver a little at a time to make a funneled opening. Did that 4 times, it is easier for them to get in that way and harder to get out.

Bristle worm, fire worm, I always see people going back and forth on this one. Now, from what I have seen on Lionfish Lair (https://www.lionfishlair.com/hitchhikers-guide/ ) there are two types of fire worms. One, the Caribbean Fire Worm, which it states are not usually bad bit to "be cautious" and "watch them", and then there is the other one. Which of course it states to remove immediately. To me, the one in your pic looks more like the Caribbean one, and not the evil one.

That's a bristleworm. The one in the first pic looks different.

The blue is just when its stretched out hes pretty wrinkled up out of the tank. But you can see the dark half of him is the part that goes blue when expanded.

There are way more than only two types of fireworms. Probably hundreds or more and they come from all different parts of the world. Lionfish lair has a good bit of hitchhikers listed but there are wayyy more weird things out there in our tanks that aren’t listed there. Here’s a fireworm that washed up on my beach in the western Pacific. Most likely a Chloeia type.

This is a Bristleworm but first pic and face expresses a fireworm to me
