Does anyone recognize this spot on my lavender tang? I haven’t seen anything like it. I don’t know if something is wrong or he just got wedged in a rock or something. He is swimming and eating like he always has....no signs of stress. Is there a reef safe general medicine? There is no way I’m getting him out of my reef. I have had him for a year.

To me that looks like a build up of tissue. Like a tumor. Not necessarily cancerous, but if it was a wound it could just be eschar that built up, possibly aggravated by pathogens

If the area is not red, black or increasing in size, or presenting tissue necrosis, I'd consider boosting the fish's immune system to help it overcome the wound. Consider using Beta Glucan. It tremendously boosts the immune system. Heck I take it too. Here's the mix: Food + 1/2 capsule of Beta Glucan + Focus (binder) + a few drops of RO get the consistency you want to work with. Feed once a day. Here's a link about BG:

I agree with @Big G and it looks like an injury or lympho to me. If you see redness than it could become infected and need additional treatment.

My thoughts exactly! Selcon, zoe, or vita chem in addition wouldn’t hurt, either. :)

Well, I have no idea what it was, but it’s completely gone now. The wife messaged me yesterday about it, and when I got home today there’s no sign of anything!! Lol I’m at a loss.
