Hi all, pretty new to hobi so need some help on I'd on this algae. Tank has been up since September went through taking the sand out over few months and a re scape but now I have this green stringy algae and some bubbles on top of the wave makers btw sand was taken out 2 months ago and algae appeared not that long ago in this amount , I had elevated phosphate (0.16) but dosed phosphate remover based onLanthanum and its 0.04 now no3 is 0.25 any advice how to take care of this only 6 fish in (pair of clowns, pair of blue jaw triggerfish, angel fish and blenny) running red sea rsk 300 skimmer which does an amazing job. Anything else you guys would recommend? Thanks

Dino's taking the sand out it's been destabilized. I used Vibrant dosed every 4 days at recommended dose. took a few months but worked

Isn't dino brown? Or they can be different colours? Thanks for the reply will have a look into vibrant

Perhaps you also had elevated No3 and now your NO3 is normal. From my experiences when nitrate spikes even if later no3 lowers you end up with green algae. Especially if you have several spikes or nitrate is high for a good deal of time. I believe maybe i'm wrong that the aquarium rocks absorb nutrients when nitrate is high and now the rocks will leach nutrients and algae will continue to grow. Originating from the rocks algae will spread and will be very hard to get rid of.
I would learn to avoid NO3 spikes. I run a low nutrient system; test kits shows 0 phosphate an 2 ppm nitrate. Biopellets and filter socks (switched out each week) greatly helped me to never have NO3 spikes anymore.
To get rid of the algae I would scrub it off with a toothbrush as much as you can. Remove floating algae from tank, and repeat. Perhaps use Red Sea NoPOX, however even with 0 phosphate in my experience algae continues to grow. For me removing hair algae was a very difficult road.

It kind of looks like two or three things at once. Like hair or turf algae with slime growing over it, thus why you're seeing green AND bubbles.

Mainly dino. Loosen up with a turkey baster and siphon tank. Then reduce white lights to Zero and add 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons at night for 4 nights and it will subside. Clean filters daily
