Hi all,
I looked through a few of different IDs and I can't seem to find one like this. Thought I would ask the experts.

It seems to be only on glass in lower flow areas. It also seems to be coming up out of the substrate. Stringy green with what looks like some small white offshoots.

I know its my own stupid fault, I got some seed rock from a lfs because I wanted coralline and a jumpstart on bacteria but I should have just been patient. Tank has been running for a few months and its just starting to show itself in three small patches.

If you dont want it pull it out.

I got out my cheap macro lens and got a couple more pictures. It is spreading slow but steady.

It looks like It has spread to parts of my rock too.

I have been manually removing wherever possible. Pumps off and siphoning out so it doesn't spread.

Any ID would be super helpful so I can work out a battle plan.

Sorry for the blurry pics. :p

Just for background
Nitrates: 5ppm
Phosphates: <.1 ( cant see color change on my kit)
Salinity: 1.026
pH: 8.2
Alk: 8 dKh
Calcium: 420ppm

Hydroids, possibly reduce feeding if needed and discontinue any liquid or powder foods. Also don't broadcast feed if that's what you're doing.

/And manual removal.

Every tank gets algae regardless, especially new tanks going through the “ugly stage”.

I kind of thought it was. But I haven't seen them in pics with that green 'root.' I'll starve the tank for a little.

Any response to maybe spot treating H2O2?

In post #3 the first image I'm not too sure about but the second and third are for sure hydroids. The green could also just be film algae growing on the hydroid's structure.

/But I would also add it's a new tank and they'll commonly just go away on their own.
