What is this? I've never seen anything like it. It's a very dark brown color. It can't be removed with a baster so I don't think it's cyano of any sort and it's not diatoms. It's all over this rock but only on this rock.

If it doesn’t blow off, it could be red coraline algae?
I hope so. It doesn't have that plating structure usually seen with coralline, though. I've never had red coralline so I wouldn't know whatit looks like. Only pink, purple and a little bit of green. Time to check out some images.
