Sea slug or sea cucumber

SHNICI's absolutely correct about the ID of the critter in the first photo. Some cowrie snails are reef-safe and helpful, others less so. Cowries mantles (the part of a snail that secretes and lays down shell as they grow) extend over the entire shell when they're active, and gives them a very different look. That, I suspect, is also why their shells have such a high polish.

any thoughts on the second photo?
Like I say, please take another photo, and please tell us which is the object we are looking after ID
Are we looking at what looks like it might be Caulerpa or some other macro-algae?

~B.

I ask, but probably the post isn't readed, sorry, I can't see anything particular, it's way too blur. There is Macro algae, gravel, LR, coralline algae, and something ODD on the front - bottom, which is looking at me :D

This is what needs id:

ok, can you describe it please, is it something coming out of it? Is it like a plant, or hard on touching or it's soft?
Is it possible to take new photo of it Please?

It is about 2.5" long and .25" WIDE at the top. It seems soft. can't get a better picture sorry. nothing coming out of it but it appears to have an open top. It is a pale white with a very, very little translucency

Thanks

I have 2 suggestions:
- tube from worm (which you have to look after the lights go off/moon stage and to check again isn't something coming out)
-sponge (some sponges SP look like a tubes) is it looking porous ?

Well, I found it again today.
Just figured it out (maybe). The structure in question seems to be coming out the back of a frag of Clove Polyps and has the same look like one of the stalks of the coral. It is somewhat hidden but I think it is a branch of the coral. I will try for a picture today.

See picture whic is from WWC

I see, with the photo you post I was never getting to that. It's really (probably) the branching part of the cloves. Like many polyps and softies do when they run out of space on the particular surface.
Good you got it at the end, but sorry, we wasn't able to get it, you know, we have to see it good enough.
Good Luck with the next ;)
