I have this coral forever and have no idea what it is. But it only true gold color a have ever seeing in corals
 
Looks like Pavona coral, very similar to alveopra in pics .

wow, there is lots of other corals i don't know what they are. do you guys get tired of answering ID posts? If not ill load this site with more questions.

i use it to help learn of the many different species out there. especially with vendors changing the name for the sake of “oRiGiNaLiTy” it difficult for newer reefers to know what they have.

its just that i have sps corals and have no idea what they are. And more so to protect my self from knowing what is what, someone might sell me a "high end" acro just to find out it just a regular green slimer or sometrhing...
 
The polyps look like a pavona maldivensis, however, it is plating so it’s most likely some other species of pavona.
 
Should I just come up with a name then and make it as "Super rare coral" and sell frags at $499/ 1/4" frag? Lol
 
Nice colony, you don't see large pavona colonies too often.

And no, we never tire of ID posts.
