I have been trying to bring this torch back but it doesn’t look good for it. I was going to remove it last night and saw this reddish growth on the side of it. Any thoughts on what it my be? I was thinking vermitad but I’ve not seen one this shape before. I have it in qt until I figure out if good or bad. Any help would be appreciated.

New to me. Kinda creepy. Can you scrape it off?

I’m thinking some kind of sponge or flatworm.
Considering how unhappy the torch looks, I’d definitely try to get that off and then do an iodine dip.

I have dipped it a couple times but just saw this last night. No clue how I missed it. Last dip was on Friday. I may try to scrape it and see if it helps the torch.
