IMG what are these

Harmless and can be a good part of the clean up crew. They can reproduce quickly and like anything else in this hobby if the numbers are too high can be a bad thing. I have heard of them munching on corals but have never personally experienced it myself. If there is one or only a few I wouldn't worry about them what so ever.

Welcome to Reef2reef, blue!

Like others have said, they can eat corals. I've had them eat large amounts of palys and zoas, witnessed with my own eyes. The problem with letting a few thrive in your tank is that they reproduce rapidly and when you find one wrapped around your most expensive zoa polyp you then realize that few turned into hundreds and you can't tell them apart. We've been fighting them for many years and remove any we see. It's a gamble really.
