Hi,

Can anyone ID this it came in on some live rock I got from someone giving up the hobby (apologies for the algae which was all over the rock when I got it...is nearly gone!).

It's growing really fast, fast enough to start growing over the critters around it. It's not a fancy colour only a grey/beige, but def has tiny little polyps and a hard skeleton.

leptastrea is very close gives me something to start googling, but it's polyps are similar (but not identical) to my Porites? Just grows to fast for typical Porites?

this is my Porites which has similar polyps. But I did not think Porites was encrusting or a fast grower....this one is slooooooooooow.

Porites , sand dollar monti, theres a couple others for some reason i cant think of right now lolol. But most likely porites if it came from liverock
Sunken, sunken like little craters.

Thank you, I really like it too, loving how it's egulfing the Tube/fan worms they just ending up poking out the top looks really natural and both seen happy. It's more than tripled in size in a month, that's 2ft down on the aquarium floor in a low flow spot that be normally tricky to place a sps in.

I think the more neutral tone corals add a nice balance to brighter ones.
