Tank has been wet almost 2 months. I’ve been waiting for the uglies to hit but haven’t had anything too bad yet. Actually I’ve had almost no algae yet. I got a bit excited when I saw some brown popping up on the rocks, but after a few days these don’t look like the diatoms I remember. These are brown, but growning in chains. They blow off the rock like dust with a coral feeder. There’s associated air bubble with large patches. And they seem to disappear every night when the light goes off.
What did I do, skip right to Dino’s? Or am i misremembering and this is diatoms?

Photos r not clear. Don't worry your tank is new so whatever it is just enjoy it for now. Most things will go away on its own(for new tanks). One thing u can do is give better flow to your aquarium and feed in a right amount. Can u make a vedio of it?

I wouldnt worry, maybe just add a powerhead if there isnt one already and also some snails to help clean the algae.

Looks like algae spores. What do you have for water flow? Any full pic of tank?

Thanks for the replies. Flow is a 565gph recirculating pump, basically a closed loop, and a 1900gph return pump running at about 70%.
