Hey guys, I have two corals that I believe I know what they are, but I don’t know what their “name” is if that makes any sense.

I believe one is a Favia. But what kind of Favia? Am I even correct?

And I believe the other is a Chalice or a Montipora.

Very new to coral. I’ve had these guys for a month now.

Did you take these pictures out of the water? IDs are most efficient if the coral is in place in the tank and fully open.

The first one could be the chalice, it is hard to tell... Could be a Hollywood Stunner, but being a simple chalice (two colours), it may not have a name...

I've never seen walls that high on a favia before (pic 2), but it could be...

Here is a picture of them in tank.

Ignore the ACAN. I know what that one is.

I will say, I wouldn’t have bought these corals not really knowing a lot about them, but when WWC has a sale for $5 / frag you cannot pass that up [emoji23]

I just found a better picture of them.

I think the others got it right. It looks like a chalice (probably Hollywood Stunner) and platygyra (also called a maze coral).

Maybe sold as a mycedium but, after all, those are also chalices. +1 Hollywood Stunner

For that Hollywood Stunner, it will get long sweepers on it, even at that size. Like 3 or 4 inches. So keep it away from others!

Here is my frag at night.

Thanks everyone!!

Hoping to get these guys off their plugs and onto the rock this weekend. They have been in the sand bed acclimating to lighting for almost a month now.
